yes i did and it pretty much said nothing other than hurry up and wait

all the links lead right back to the top of that page

I have been playing super hero RPG's for 22 yrs and RPG's in general for 31 yrs

most of my experience in superhero RPG's has been with the Hero system

the example given on the RPGnet forum had 2 characters 1 with 80 str and the other with a 40 str and as stated this is a linear system
so my questions are as follows

1 what is normal human strength(numerical value and how much it can lift in lb or kg in hero system this is str 10 and it lifts 100 kg or 220 lb)

2 what is maximum human strength(numerical value and how much it can lift in lb or kg in hero system this is str 20 and it lifts 400 kg or 880 lb)

3 can we go above max human strength

4 what would be the Strength of a brick like character in your normal superhero setting

Saying Michaels' posts there and Matthews and some of the other posters posts contained "pretty much nothing" is silly...and anyone who reads them can determine otherwise. Just stop while your ahead ok?

And since you did indeed read everything as you just stated...then you surely read the part where Matthew Sprange mentioned they will be posting this info soon on the Mongoose site soon and also in Signs & Portents...as well as...Michael Murphy's postings that mentioned he would pop in when schedule permits to answer everyones questions the best he can. That is why I wanted you to read all the other posts first in case you hadn't gotten that info. Mike has been playing and developing all types of RPG games for over 30 years as well...he will be fielding these questions A. When he can and B. When permitted by PR predetermined scheduling.

So Mike will check here when he can...and answer all questions he can...but right now we are swamped developing 5 companion books for the system, 24 different comic book series, as well as other ancillary projects. I'm sure you understand. Thanks for your patience as well as everyone elses.

Beastttt,

Thanks for the questions and now that I'm out of the dungeon I have a chance to catch up. I'm going to skip over your other posts for obvious reasons and dig right into your questions. Please understand that it took over 200 pages to explain the system so I can't take the same amount of space to cover it on the web forums. I'm glad that we have your interest and your time, we will spend as much of ours for you as possible. Without any further gilding of the lily on to your questions:

1. Character creation is a collaborative process with the Director and Player. It covers a number of different paths and ends up as a random die roll bank system. Points go into a pool for use on main abilities. Although easy to explain in the book, and easy to perform live and in person I don't think I can do it justice in short form. But the basic process goes: Answer some questions, roll the dice, consult with fate, add some die rolls together, divide it as appropriate, add them to normal human thresholds, compare numbers to escalators, continue to develop the concept of the character and consult with the director to make sure what you are imagining will translate into the character sheet.
2. The roll system is simple 59 is greater than 58. There are a number of factors depending on the action being conducted. There is an opposed unopposed system. There are times where a roll is effected by a bonus with an eye on keeping the mathmatic calculations to a minimum.
3. As far as power levels go, the Director knows that there is nothing that a player can build that they do not have the power to create the anti-thesis of that character. The number 30 is used for most normal human levels. A plus or minus 10 still falls within the normal human range. Level 51 or above is considered special human and should be avoided by the director. The bottom line is . . . build the type of character you want within the rules of the system.

Hope this helps, and post any question you would like, we'll answer as time permits.

Thanks,
Stuff goes here, not there, but here.
