What animal/character types would you like to see?

Postby Stephen_Lindsay on Thu Aug 28, 2008 11:27 pm

As I'm sure you can tell by now, Ham & Eggs live in a world inhabited by walking/talking animals. It's just the way things are in New Pork City.

We've got a Sherlock Holmes-esque pig, his sidekick chick, deranged rabbit soldiers, pig cops, etc. etc.

So what I'd like to know is, what animal/character-type combinations would YOU like to see?

A good friend and fellow Steve (Steven Saunders) already gave me the idea for Ninja Owls -- doesn't that fit PERFECTLY?!? I love it!

So what else have you got? What would you like to see inhabit the world of Ham & Eggs? If you come up with a great character-type/animal, it may find its way into the comic. And if it does, you can bet I'll name the character after you! So hit me with your ideas!

It would depend on the character, I suppose. A Sherlockesque Pig is a fantastic concept! A Sherlockeque Fox would be expected. :-)

Plus, the characters you're create have such potential for STORY because of who they are, I think. I know I enjoy reading them.

How about a Lion President? Yes, I am watching Thursday's Night Daily Show. I found it hysterical when they equated him with the Lion King.

I'd like to see an animal that really isn't suited for any activity when brought into a civilized world. Like a snake. It's got no arms, not even wing arms as have been creatively licensed to the birds. It would be a humorously incapable creature. Either that, or maybe a evil piranha mastermind, who commands a robotic body from within his little fishbowl. Hope you enjoy the suggestions, I started an account on this site simply because I love Ham and Eggs so much. Keep it up!

Paladin,

Thanks so much for the suggestions, and for joining the site!!

I absolutely LOVE the piranha idea! Just the thought of an evil piranha piloting a giant robot from a fishbowl-head is brilliant!!

It is truly gratifying to receive praise for an idea from someone who obviously puts a lot of thought into that sort of thing. In fact I was so pleased to read that you liked the idea that I did some sketches. Obviously I wouldn't want to infringe on your creative process, and if you decide the concept is worthwhile, you'll use it as you see fit, but I thought you might be interested in what was going on in my head as I typed.

Photobucket told me to post this:

<a href="http://s421.photobucket.com/albums/pp293/NoblePaladin/?action=view&current=fishrobot.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i421.photobucket.com/albums/pp293/NoblePaladin/fishrobot.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

And here's the url on its own

http://i421.photobucket.com/albums/pp29 ... hrobot.jpg

So it's the robot suit, a detail on the fishbowl, and then a close up shot of the little guy.
Thanks, and have a great day.

Also, yes, yes I did give a fish a mustache and goatee. I tread boldly where some quiver in fear. Muahahahaha!

In his hydraulic suit he can strip a city bus to its chassis in under a minute! Glad you liked it, although even I'm curious as to how he built the suit with his stubby little piranha fins. I also kind of imagine him with a bit of an accent due to that weird mouth arrangement that piranhas have. I know I'm being rather specific with my "animal suggestion", but once an idea has lodged itself in my head, I tend to fixate :D From here on in any and all discussion on this thread shall be free of my nit-pickery. Cheers!

Please, please stop, you're making me blush. Seriously though, I'm blown away by both your positive response, as well as by the intimate connection you are making such a sincere effort to form with your audience, it's a rarity to find such dedication, and I applaud you. Anyway, I truly hope you can find some way to make use of the suggestion (maybe you can name him after me :) ), and I'm absolutely giddy about the prospect of reading more fantastic Ham and Eggs in the future!
